Description
This old variety of root vegetable is known as a Swede in the UK (and rutabaga in the US) is undemanding and high-yielding. It has a purple-cream-white skin with yellow flesh and is suitable for stews, mashes and purees. The swedes have a long shelf life when stored in a cool and dark place.
Tips:
- Germination temperature: 18 to 20°C
- Do not plant too deep
- Humus-rich or loamy soil recommended
- Not suitable for dry locations
- Loosen and mulch the soil regularly
