Kiepenkerl Endive Eros

This bolt-resistant variety from Kiepenkerl's Profi-Line range forms fast-growing, beautiful, large salad heads with a healthy underside and a good core. It is productive even at high temperatures and is therefore the perfect salad for summer. It can tolerate low temperatures of up to -5°C which makes it also suitable for sowing in late summer for harvesting in autumn and winter.

Our tips:

• When starting indoors, ensure a uniform temperature of around 20°C
• Transplant 4 - 5 weeks after sowing
• Staggered sowing for a long harvest season
• Mild taste in summer, tart and aromatic in autumn and winter
• Protection against root aphid infestation with crop protection nets
• Keep the soil loose and uniformly moist
• In case of root aphid infestation, be sure to remove all plant remains from the bed
• The salad heads can be stored well in a cool place
• For a particularly mild taste, tie up the leaves to keep the leaves pale
