Description
This pumpkin bread by Dills has set several records (i.e. the European record in 2009 with 650 kilos). The 40-80 kilos these pumpkins typically grow to arouses astonishment and admiration. However, this creeping squash can also be used just like any other. It has great tasting orange yellow flesh with a light orange peel and can be used for canning or pickling, for soups, jams, breads, cakes, or as a vegetable with meat and fish. The ripe fruits have a hard shell that is also suitable for carving for Halloween or for lanterns. They can be stored in a frost-free, dry environment.
