Description
The wintergreen leaves of winter cress are ideal for harvesting in autumn and winter and is suitable to serve in a salad or as a seasoning herb. It blooms in spring and early summer with yellow flowers that are a valuable food source for beneficial insects.
Tips:
- Light germinator - do not cover the seeds with soil, just press them down lightly
- Thin out seedlings soon after germination
- Sow early for harvesting as early as late summer
- Can be harvested throughout winter in frost-free weather (always harvest a few leaves at a time from the edge of the leaf rosette)
- The flowers are edible too
