Description
The strawberry tree comes from the Mediterranean and gets its name from its red fruit, which resemble strawberries. The fruit is edible and can be used for jam or liqueur. The evergreen tree is hardy, especially in its old age.
Tips for growing:
- Store the seeds in the fridge for one month (stratify)
- Sprinkle the seeds on moist potting soil
- Sprinkle some soil over the seeds and press lightly down
- Cover with cling film and punch holes in it
- Remove the film for about 2 hours every two to three days
- Keep the potting soil moist but not wet
