Description

This peat-free soil is ideal for use outdoors as well as in containers. It is the perfect soil for all bog plants such as rhododendrons, azaleas and blueberries and offers them an optimal supply of nutrients so that additional fertilisation in the field is required from the 2nd to 3rd year at the earliest.

By completely avoiding peat, not only are humid habitats preserved and protected but CO2 emissions caused by peat extraction are also reduced. Thus, this earth makes a valuable contribution to the protection of the environment and the climate.

For the production of this soil, soil samples were taken from the original locations of the most beautiful rhododendrons in southern England and analyzed for around 200 parameters in Austria in order to be able to reproduce soil of the same quality. The use of sulfur made it possible to produce an acidic raw humus. This is mixed with loamy sand for this earth and sieved to 15 mm.

Advantages:

  • Completely without peat
  • Protects the environment and the climate
  • Optimal nutrient supply with all main and trace nutrients
  • Re-fertilisation outdoors is only necessary from the 2nd to 3rd year
  • Slight rewetting of dried out cultures
  • Modelled on the best bog soils
  • Approved for organic farming

Application:

This ready-made peat soil can be used directly in containers and outdoors. It is suitable for all typical bog plants as well as in organic farming.

Note:
The horn shavings contained are a nitrogen storage fertiliser and are slowly decomposed by fungi. A white fungal network is therefore normal and is a sign of high biological activity.
