The Organic Cultivation Soil is ideal for sowing vegetables and flowers. It is also one of the few potting soils that does not contain peat - and still delivers perfect results thanks to a combination of organic compost, wood fibre, expanded clay granules and horn shavings. A loose and airy structure makes pricking out quick and easy, helping to avoid root damage to tender plants.

Notes:

• The organic cultivation soil is fantastic at holding water. Although it quickly looks dry on the surface, it usually still remains sufficiently moist underneath. Make sure to always check how damp the soil is before watering.
• When the plants start growing true leaves, they have a higher nutrient requirement. For this next phase, switch to a different soil, such as Organic Flower Soil or Organic Tomato and Vegetable Soil.
• The horn shavings act as an ideal long-lasting nitrogen fertiliser. They are slowly decomposed by fungi so a white fungal network is normal and is a sign of high biological activity.
