Description

French lavender grows to be 4 -6 cm high and develops into a small woody shrub. With its strikingly shaped, bright purple flower heads, it is sure to catch the eye in pots, planters and flowerbeds. It also looks lovely in rock gardens!

The leaves of the plant are narrow and blue-green in colour. If the plant is planted outdoors leave at least 4 -5 cm between the plants so they have room to grow. After flowering, the plants can be gently pruned. They should be cut back again in the early new year.

The leaves and flowers of the plant can be harvested in the summer. The leaves are perfect for seasoning poultry and fish dishes. The blossoms make a lovely lavender tea. The blossoms can be dried and used for aromatherapy. They also naturally repel insects.
